Fratessa Forbes Wong developed a series of diverse structural system solutions that met the challenging demands of a complex program, site, and structure. The complex includes archival storage, museum, exhibit halls, presentation auditorium, presidential office space, and meeting rooms. The hilltop site and need for secure storage required installation of significant walls, some as tall as 22 feet, all with strict waterproofing requirements. The road leading to the site required tall "crib wall" retaining walls, which included tie backs and landscape planting.
